Collect Coins to Boost Your Retirement Fund
Are your retirement days closer than you think? Have you been saving money in a retirement fund but know that you will need a lot more to survive? Why not boost your retirement fund with spare change and valuable coins? By that I mean why not begin collecting all the change you receive back from cashiers after you buy something? As well, you could start a coin collection of valuable coins.
Learn how to boost your retirement fund with coins:
1. Save all your change and every so often make a deposit to your retirement fund.
2. Create a coin collection. Look for ways to collect valuable coins and start a new hobby of storing them in a nice album. One day they will increase in value and you will be able to cash them in for money for your retirement fund.
Ways to Collect Change:
1. The first step is to always remind yourself to save your change instead of spending it.
2. Find a way to easily collect change. You could put a cup in your vehicle so you can save the change you get while you are on the road. You could also put a coin purse or pouch in your purse to put all the change you get when out shopping.
3. Many people enjoy collecting their spare change. They love watching it grow. Find a container or canister that you no longer use at home and begin putting your change in there. Put it in a private place in your home where you will see it often so that you will know that you are saving money.
4. Put your change in the bank. When your jar or container is about half full or every month, bring the coins to the bank and have them count them and put them into your retirement account.
You may have noticed that some stores have change counter machines that you can use to count your coins. The machines charge you a commission based on how much change you put in them. These are not the greatest idea for someone that is trying to save money.
Begin Collecting Valuable Coins
1. Coin collecting can be a fun new hobby as well as a great way to save more money.
2. Get albums for your home that you can use to keep your coins organized. You can find these at local stores like hobby stores. They usually are made of heavy cardboard and have slots for the different coins.
* Take your time and look at several different stores for coin albums. Find something that you can use for a long time, but are not too expensive to buy.
* Usually, albums are meant to store coins from a specific type of year, a specific mint, and a specific kind of coin.
3. Begin with a small collection of coins when you first start out. You could collect all the state quarters, for example.
4. Always look for ways to add more coins to your collection. You can learn more about collecting valuable coins by speaking to a professional coin collector in your local city or town. You can always look online or in the Yellow Pages to find someone close by.
5. Coin collecting takes time but it is never too late to begin. Just make sure that the coins your collect are worth something and not just souvenirs from the Olympics. Remember you are collecting these coins to boost your retirement fund!
When you have completed the coin albums you need to be sure you keep them somewhere safe like a safe deposit box.
6. Hang on to your coins and watch their value go up. Over time your coin collection will increase in value and once you feel comfortable you can take them to your local coin collector for a quote on how much money he will pay you for your coins. If you are happy with the quote, go ahead and sell them and immediately put that money into your retirement account.
The coins that you gather throughout the day are worth more than you think if you put them into your retirement account regularly. You can also collect coins that will increase in value and save them for the time when you can cash them in to increase your retirement account.
